As part of my current Mindfulness training course, I’ve really increased my meditation frequency.
This has revealed a few beautiful (read: painful) experiences to me which were clearly buried very, very deep. Especially my dreams seem to be perfect passageways for my subconscious/unconscious mind to bring certain things from my past to my attention. Not easy, but helpful.
Meditation can be like dredging all matter of issues from the bottom of your mind and bring it to the surface. Kindness, being compassionate and patient with myself is always a good idea, but essential during times of “upgrades.”
And I can say, hand on heart, that, because of practicing mindfulness, I’m cool with reviewing the past, but from a safe and gentle distance, because today those stories are but mental events and not facts happening to me in the now.
